A deceptively tough course. You rode out 1 mile and then did either 2 or 3 loops around a 6 mile square, then 1 mile back to the finish. The 6 mile loop had a series of short thigh-busting rollers that took their toll.
Race 1 Masters 55-59. Felt strong,but really had a tough time getting a rhythm going early over the rollers. Maintained a 25mph avg for the 14.1 mile route, but it was a lot of work.
Race 2 Cat 4 - The heat and the winds picked in the afternoon. I still had the first race in my legs and really struggled during the first lap. Slowly dug my way out of the PainCave and got my avg speed back up. Finished with an avg of 24.8 for the 20.1 route.
