A decent day with the sun finally breaking through the gloom. Mid-Ohio is such a cool place to race bikes. As I was warming up I knew this was going to be a tough race. The wind had all the flags flying straight out from the SW. The +50 class 12/14 strong was off first. There were two speeds most of the race, 15mph into the wind and 45mph with it. The group stayed together for the most part the first few laps. After that, each time we climbed the hill we lost one or two riders. I was able to hang with the lead group of four, but the repeated HR redlines gave me a bad case of cement legs going into the bell lap. Needless to say, I was shelled in the sprint and ended up 4th. It was great to see many of my teamates out racing. We may not be the fastest, but we have the best kits in the peloton. Guardando bene รจ cool.
